SATB (A cappella)
“I Saw Three Ships.” Also known as “As I Sat on a Sunny Bank,” this carol was found throughout England although there exist several versions of the tune. According to Cecil Sharp (the eminent English folk song collector) and David Willcocks (the choral conductor and arranger), this version represents the “first” tune. The immense appeal of this carol is probably due to the simplicity of the tune and the repetition of text.
